Liability Waiver and Release
Version 1.0 · effective September 28, 2026
This waiver applies to every class, camp and open session offered by Everthread (“the Program”) and taught by Ieva from her home in the Alpharetta / Milton area, Georgia. A parent or legal guardian accepts it on the registration form before a child takes part.
Activities
Children in the Program do handwork such as hand sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, felting, fiber preparation, natural dyeing and sewing-machine work. Depending on the program, the day can also include snack and lunch, stories, games and time outdoors, which at some camps has included creek time.
Risks
Like any hands-on activity, handwork carries some risk. For example:
- pricks, cuts or scrapes from needles, pins, scissors and other hand tools;
- injuries from sewing machines, including needle injuries to fingers;
- skin or eye irritation, or allergic reactions, from wool, fibers, dyes, soaps or other materials, or from food;
- slips, trips, falls and other ordinary injuries during play and outdoor time, including near water.
Safety is talked through with the children before tools are used, children only use tools suited to their age and readiness, and adults supervise and guide work with sharp tools and machines. Even so, not every risk can be removed.
Assumption of risk
I understand these risks and voluntarily allow my child to take part in the Program.
Release
To the fullest extent the law allows, I release, and agree not to bring any claim against, Everthread, Ieva and the members of her household (together, “the Released Parties”) for any injury, illness, loss or damage to my child or my child's belongings that arises from taking part in the Program. This release does not cover gross negligence or willful misconduct by a Released Party. It applies to me, my child, and anyone who might make a claim on our behalf.
Health information and emergencies
I have told the Program, or will tell it before the first session, about my child's allergies, medical conditions and anything else that affects their safe participation, and I will share any changes.
In an emergency, if I cannot be reached right away, I authorize the Program to give first aid and to seek emergency medical care for my child. I accept responsibility for the cost of that care. The Program will contact me, and the emergency contact I provide, as quickly as possible.
General
- This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.
- If any part of it is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- It covers every Program session my child attends until I withdraw it in writing or accept a newer version.
